The Internal Security Administration in Homs Province announced on Monday the extension of the curfew in several neighborhoods of the city until 5 p.m. today, amid ongoing security tensions that have affected the area in recent hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local sources had reported on Sunday that an armed group attacked the al-Muhajireen neighborhood and the al-Muhajireen suburb in Homs, firing randomly and causing the destruction of home facades and the burning of several houses, following the killing of a married couple in the Zaidal neighborhood south of Homs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement published on its platforms, the Internal Security Administration said the curfew applies to the neighborhoods of al-Abbasiyah, al-Arman, al-Muhajireen, al-Zahraa, al-Nuzha, Akrama, al-Nazihin, Ashira, Zaidal, Karm al-Zaytoun, Karm al-Lawz, Hayy al-Wuroud, and the Police Housing residences. It called on residents to comply with the decision \u201cto ensure their safety and to allow the completion of ongoing field procedures.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For its part, the Homs Health Directorate clarified that the city\u2019s hospitals received the bodies of two individuals\u2014Abdullah al-Aboud al-Nasser al-Khalidi and his wife\u2014who were killed in a crime in the Zaidal neighborhood, in addition to eighteen injuries, most of them resulting from random gunfire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
