Washington Dismisses Free Syrian Army Commander from Al-Tanf Base

Local sources revealed that U.S. forces have dismissed Lieutenant Colonel Salem Turki Al-Antari from his leadership position in the Free Syrian Army (FSA), the Washington-backed faction operating at the Al-Tanf base near the Syrian-Jordanian-Iraqi border triangle.
The sources explained that the dismissal decision was made yesterday without any official explanation. They noted that Al-Antari remains an officer in the Syrian Ministry of Defense despite being removed from the faction’s command.
According to the same sources, two names are currently being considered as his potential successors: Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Sayir Al-Sayer, one of the faction’s founders and a native of the city of Palmyra (from the Al-Hadidin tribe), or Major Ahmed Al-Tamer, from the city of Mork in the Hama countryside, who previously served in the ranks of the “Martyr Ahmed Al-Abdo Forces.”
So far, there has been no official comment from the Free Syrian Army or relevant U.S. media channels regarding the dismissal.
