UNICEF: Sharp Deterioration in Syria’s Humanitarian Situation during Last July/2025

UNICEF has reported a significant deterioration in the humanitarian situation in Syria during the month of July, driven by escalating military tensions in Sweida`a and a worsening economic crisis. These developments have led to the displacement of approximately 192,000 people.
According to the organization’s report, humanitarian aid reached over 6.4 million people across Syria, half of whom are children. Since December 2024, around 1.7 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) have returned to their areas of origin, along with 780,000 refugees.
UNICEF also warned of the ongoing threat posed by explosive remnants of war, which have claimed the lives of 451 people — including children. Noting severe shortfalls in the 2025 Syria Humanitarian Response appeal.
