Ukraine: Russian Military Losses Exceed One Million Since the Start of the War

On Monday, the Ukrainian General Staff announced that the number of killed and wounded in the Russian army since the outbreak of the war on February 24, 2022, has exceeded one million. They confirmed that the total human losses have reached approximately 1,089,060 military personnel, including more than 910 in the past 24 hours.
According to the statement, since the beginning of the war, Ukrainian forces have destroyed:
•11,168 tanks (including 5 last Sunday).
•23,258 armored combat vehicles.
•32,545 artillery systems.
1,481 multiple rocket launchers.
•1,217 air defense systems.
also noted the downing of 422 warplanes and 341 helicopters, the destruction of more than 57,000 drones, and 3,691 cruise missiles, in addition to 28 warships and one submarine. Furthermore, over 61,000 vehicles and fuel tanks, as well as nearly 4,000 pieces of special equipment, have been destroyed.
Stalled Negotiations
Meanwhile, political efforts remain at a standstill. About 20 European countries, including France and the UK, announced last week their readiness to monitor the implementation of any potential peace agreement, with some even expressing willingness to deploy forces on the ground. This was rejected by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who stated that any Western military presence in Ukraine would be considered a “legitimate target.”
U.S. President Donald Trump meanwhile has continued his efforts in recent weeks to mediate and end the war that has lasted more than three and a half years, but his attempts have not yet yielded tangible results.
