Two Israelis Killed in Shooting Incident at Al-Linbi Crossing

Two Israelis, aged 60 and 20, were killed on Thursday in a shooting incident at the Al-Linbi crossing on the Jordanian border, according to Israeli authorities.

Initial reports indicated that the attacker, a Jordanian citizen working in humanitarian aid, arrived at the crossing in a truck designated for transporting aid to Gaza. The Jordanian army had hired him to transport the shipment.

According to the Israeli army, the attacker got out of the vehicle and opened fire on people at the site, seriously injuring the two Israelis who were later declared dead at the scene. After his weapon malfunctioned, the attacker threw down the rifle and drew a knife to continue the attack before being neutralized by a security guard from the crossings authority.

The Jordanian General Intelligence Directorate told Qatar’s Al-Arabiya channel that the incident “occurred outside Jordanian territory,” confirming that “the border has not been closed from the Jordanian side,” and that relevant authorities are following up on the incident and will release additional details when available.

Paramedics reported arriving at the scene with a large force, performing CPR on the injured before their deaths were confirmed at the site.
