Transitional Government Dismisses Two Judges in Suwayda After Assuming Administrative Roles

Syria’s transitional government has issued a decision to dismiss two judges in Suwayda Province after they assumed positions in local administration, according to an official source on Wednesday.
The decision included Judge Muhannad Burjas Abu Faour, who had served as the judge of the Criminal Court of First Instance and the Misdemeanor Court in Salkhad, and Judge Shadi Faiz Murshid, the second investigative judge at the Suwayda Justice Palace.
Although no official clarification was provided regarding the reasons for their dismissal, local information indicates that the decision is linked to their assumption of new administrative duties. Judge Muhannad Abu Faour currently heads the Higher Legal Committee in Suwayda, while Judge Shadi Murshid serves as the commander of the Internal Security Apparatus in the province, following their cessation of previous judicial functions.
In his first comment, Judge Shadi Murshid described his dismissal as a “badge of honor,” affirming that his commitment to serving the people of Suwayda is, in his words, “a commitment to justice itself.”
