The Dignity Strike Enters Its Fourth Day in Predominantly Alawite Areas in Syria

The strike continues for the fourth day in predominantly Alawite areas along the Syrian coast and interior, in response to a call by Sheikh Ghazal Ghazal, the head of the Supreme Alawite Islamic Council, to carry out a five-day general strike.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights clarified that several cities and towns, most notably Misyaf and the eastern and western countryside of Hama, have witnessed near-complete closures of commercial shops and quiet streets, along with the suspension of school attendance in several areas.
In Homs governorate, local sources reported that some school administrations have issued warnings to absent students, threatening expulsion and the removal of their names from school registers, while also summoning parents to review the administrations.
The strike affects several areas in Latakia, Jableh, Tartus, Safita, and Drikish, in addition to large parts of the Hama countryside, especially the city of Misyaf and its outskirts.
