Tehran: Upcoming Visit by Erdoğan to Strengthen Iranian–Turkish Cooperation

Turkey’s ambassador to Tehran, Hicabi Kırlangıç, stated that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will visit Iran soon, noting that the previous visit had been postponed due to the “12-day imposed war.”
Kırlangıç explained, in a statement to Iran’s ILNA news agency, that the recent visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to Tehran was aimed at preparing the ground for this presidential visit. Fidan’s program included meetings with the Iranian foreign minister, the speaker of parliament, and other officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The ambassador added that the talks focused mainly on bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and border issues, in addition to free-trade zones, while regional files were not a primary topic of discussion, though they were touched upon to a limited extent.
Kırlangıç noted that both sides emphasized their support for the people of Gaza and considered “Israel the main crisis facing the region’s Islamic countries,” stressing the importance of coordinating positions among Muslim nations. He also called for strengthening cooperation between Iran and Turkey to help achieve stability in Syria and Iraq
