Tehran Mocks U.S. President’s Statements on Its Nuclear Program

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, ridiculed statements attributed to the U.S. President claiming that the United States “bombed and destroyed Iran’s nuclear industry.”
Khamenei wrote on the platform “X” (formerly Twitter):
“The U.S. President boasts: We bombed and destroyed the Iranian nuclear industry. Well, live with that illusion!”
This was a clear reference to the fact that Iran’s nuclear program remains active and continues to develop.
Khamenei’s remarks come amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington over Iran’s nuclear dossier, particularly with the ongoing enrichment of uranium at high levels, which raises Western concerns over the potential development of nuclear weapons.
No official response has yet been issued by the U.S. side regarding Khamenei’s tweet.
Iran repeatedly asserts that its nuclear program is peaceful, intended solely for energy production and medical uses, while the United States and its allies demand a halt to sensitive activities and a full return to compliance with international agreements.
