Syrian Minister of Emergency Affairs Discusses Enhancing Humanitarian Cooperation and Relief with OCHA Office

Today, Wednesday, the Syrian Minister of Emergency Affairs met with the Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in humanitarian response and deliver aid to affected areas.

The meeting focused on supporting relief efforts and opening new coordination channels between the government and international organizations, ensuring improved mechanisms for aid distribution and involving local communities in reconstruction and early recovery processes.

During the meeting, the minister reaffirmed the Syrian government’s commitment to facilitating the work of international and humanitarian organizations and providing the necessary arrangements to enable their access to disaster-affected areas. He emphasized the importance of transparency in managing resources and aid to ensure they reach the rightful beneficiaries.

For his part, the OCHA director expressed the organization’s readiness to enhance cooperation with the relevant Syrian authorities and support relief efforts and field coordination to improve the conditions of those affected.
