Syrian Democratic Forces and Syrian Government Discuss Integration of Forces and Securing Return of Civilians

The presidential envoy, Brigadier General Ziad Al-Ayesh, met with the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, in the city of Al-Hasakah, in the presence of the Director of the Political Affairs Department in the governorate, Abbas Hussein.

During the meeting, a number of critical issues were discussed, most notably the progress of integrating the Syrian Democratic Forces into the Syrian army, the release of a new batch of detainees, and resolving the matters related to the prisons under the SDF. The talks also covered securing the return of displaced families to their villages in Tal Abyad, Raqqa, Afrin, and the countryside of Al-Hasakah. This meeting comes within the framework of efforts aimed at addressing outstanding issues.
