Students of Sweida Appeal to UNESCO to Ensure Their Right to Education

Dozens of students and teachers in the city of Sweida staged a protest today in front of the Directorate of Education, before heading towards the governorate building, demanding a swift solution to the education crisis after the suspension of high school exams since mid-July, following the completion of only one exam subject.
The students held banners in both Arabic and English, calling on international organizations, foremost among them UNESCO, to intervene directly and oversee the exam process to guarantee their educational rights.
The protesters emphasized that the lack of clarity regarding the future of the exams is increasing the fears of students and their families, urging the concerned authorities to take urgent measures to ensure the continuation of education free from any political disputes that could threaten their academic future.
