Serious Movements Inside Syria and Security Warnings

Reports indicate suspected meetings between leaders of the Islamic State (ISIS) and parties linked to security institutions within the Syrian Transitional Government led by Ahmad al-Sharaa, amid concerns that these developments may affect civilians in various parts of the country.

According to available information, a secret meeting was held on November 18, 2025, in the al-Sukhna area east of Palmyra, bringing together ISIS figures, Syrian security elements, and tribal leaders. The reports suggest that the discussions focused on the future of the organization’s activity inside Syria and the redeployment of foreign fighters in sensitive areas near the Lebanese border and in the rural regions of Homs and Hama.

There are fears that these movements may aim to carry out operations targeting areas with diverse religious and sectarian compositions, including communities of Alawites, Druze, and Kurds—raising significant concern among residents and observers.

These alleged activities are believed to be connected to the recent visit of Transitional Government head Ahmad al-Sharaa to the United States, which reportedly caused tension within ISIS amid talk of potential understandings regarding monitoring extremist activity inside Syria.

Reports also point to the role of the 74th Brigade—one of the military formations linked to the Transitional Government—composed of local and foreign fighters and based mainly in the rural areas of Hama and Homs, further heightening the sensitivity of the security situation.

Experts stress that although this information has not been confirmed by independent sources, it warrants heightened community vigilance, given the possibility that extremist cells may exploit the security chaos to reactivate.

So far, no official comment has been issued by the Transitional Government or its head, Ahmad al-Sharaa, while residents continue to monitor developments with extreme caution.
