SDF Warns of the Impact of Military Escalation on the Security of ISIS Prisons

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) warned of the repercussions of the escalation carried out by mercenaries of the transitional government, backed by the Turkish occupation, on prisons holding members of the ISIS organization.
In a statement issued by its Media Center and published on its official website, the SDF confirmed that ISIS cells are attempting to exploit the military escalation to launch attacks targeting the prisons.
The statement read:
“In light of the security situation imposed by the attacks of Damascus factions, accompanied by military mobilization and ongoing threats against the regions of North and East Syria, ISIS terrorist cells are attempting to exploit this escalation to carry out attacks targeting prisons holding its members. Our forces are in a state of full readiness and constant vigilance, and all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the security of the prisons and prevent any security breach. They are currently secure and under full control. However, the continuation of this situation, along with the accompanying military escalation, could lead to destabilizing overall security, posing a real threat to the safety of the prisons and risking a return of the region to square one after years of sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.”
Since the sixth of the current month, mercenaries of the interim government have been launching attacks on the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in Aleppo, on Deir Hafir, which is administratively affiliated with the Tabqa Canton, and on the surroundings of the Tishreen Dam south of the city of Kobani.
