SDF: Shelling Targets Villages Near Tishreen Dam in Eastern Aleppo

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Tuesday that villages in the vicinity of the Tishreen Dam in the eastern Aleppo countryside were subjected to shelling carried out by factions affiliated with the Ministry of Defense of the Syrian transitional government.

In a statement, the SDF said that the shelling targeted the villages of Haj Hussein and Sheikh Mahshi, in addition to the Syriatel Hill located near the dam, noting the use of artillery and heavy weapons.

The SDF considered the shelling a dangerous escalation, holding the Syrian government in Damascus responsible for what it described as a threat to regional security, the lives of civilians, and vital infrastructure.

No immediate comment was issued by the Syrian Ministry of Defense regarding the SDF statement.
