Saudi Arabia Warns Israel of “Severe Consequences” if It Moves to Annex the West Bank

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia issued a strong warning to Israel, affirming that any attempt to annex the West Bank would lead to “significant repercussions” on multiple levels, according to Israel’s Channel 12.

Although Riyadh did not specify possible measures, informed sources indicated that options on the table may include suspending the normalization process or closing Saudi airspace to Israeli flights.

In a similar stance, the United Arab Emirates considered annexation a “red line” that threatens the Abraham Accords and negatively impacts security and trade relations with Israel.

These Gulf warnings come amid increasing pressure from Israeli far-right factions pushing the Tel Aviv government toward annexing parts of the West Bank, a move described as a response to several Western countries’ recognition of the State of Palestine.

On the international front, sources close to former U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed his opposition to any annexation steps at present, while Gulf leaders are holding talks with him on ways to end the Gaza war on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings.
