New Military Mobilization Orders in Eastern Aleppo Amid Fears of Escalation with The SDF

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) revealed that a recent meeting held in Aleppo city between leaders of the Syrian Interim Government and commanders of the “National Army” factions concluded with orders to deploy military demonstration units equipped with heavy machinery—including tanks and artillery—to the Deir Hafer fronts in eastern Aleppo.
According to the Observatory, the aim of these movements is to prevent any potential military action by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), especially after reports emerged that the SDF possesses suicide drones, rocket launchers, and long-range artillery stationed at the sugar factory.
The Observatory explained that these reinforcements will be sent in three phases, starting from Aleppo city through Khanasser and Al-Safira, reaching Al-Qweiris Airport, where foreign fighters from the Uyghur and Chechen groups are stationed. This move aims to impose a deterrence posture along the frontline.
In the same context, trucks accompanied by a Turkish delegation were observed entering Al-Qweiris Airport yesterday, coinciding with the closure of the road leading to it.
These developments come amid escalating military and security tensions on the eastern Aleppo countryside fronts, where repeated artillery shelling and sporadic clashes reflect the fragile field situation.
Yesterday, the SOHR also reported the closure of the Aleppo–Raqqa highway and the secondary roads leading to Deir Hafer city, coinciding with the entry of Turkish convoys into Al-Qweiris military airport, amid tightened security measures and checkpoints at the entrances, causing traffic disruptions and obstructing civilian movement.
