National Guard Announces Foiling Infiltration Attempts West of Sweida

The National Guard forces in Sweida announced today that they repelled attacks targeting areas in the western part of the province, at a time when the Najran and Al-Majdal axes and the vicinity of the civil prison witnessed escalating security tension in recent hours.
A statement issued by the National Guard said that groups affiliated with the Transitional Government in Syria carried out fire toward the vicinity of the civil prison, causing material damage to two civilian cars, in addition to intermittent attacks targeting the towns of Najran and Al-Majdal. The statement also noted gunfire from the directions of Al-Mansoura and Rimat Hazem toward advanced points in the area.
The statement added that National Guard forces responded to the sources of fire and dealt with infiltration attempts, affirming the readiness of its members and their continued presence in their positions.
No comment has been issued by an independent party regarding the nature of the clashes or the extent of losses, while the western region of Sweida continues to record intermittent tensions for weeks.
