Meeting Begins Between Autonomous Administration and Interim Government Delegations in Damascus

This morning, an official meeting commenced in the Syrian capital, Damascus, bringing together a delegation from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and a delegation from the Syrian Interim Government to discuss political and security files within the framework of the March 10 agreement signed between the two parties.
The Autonomous Administration delegation includes the General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazlum Abdi; Co-Chair of the Foreign Relations Office, Ilham Ahmed; and Commander of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), Ruhlat Afrin. Representing the Interim Government are its President, Ahmad Al-Shara, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Asaad Al-Sheibani.
The meeting aims to discuss mechanisms for implementing the provisions of the March 10 agreement and to coordinate on security and administrative matters in the northern and eastern regions of the country, in addition to exploring ways to enhance political and military understandings between the two sides.
These meetings come as a continuation of a series of previous consultations, the latest of which took place on October 6, attended by Mazlum Abdi, Ilham Ahmed, Ruhlat Afrin, Co-Vice President of the Syrian Democratic Council, Ghassan Al-Youssef, and President of the Syria Future Party, Abdel Hamid Al-Mahbash, alongside the U.S. envoy to Syria, Tom Breck, and the Commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), Admiral Brad Cooper, heading a delegation from the international coalition.
