Martyrdom of SDF Fighters in an Attack by the Transitional Government Forces in Dibsī ‘Afnān, West of Raqqa

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced today the martyrdom of several of their fighters due to an attack described as “treacherous” carried out by factions affiliated with the Transitional Government in the Dibsī ‘Afnān area, west of Raqqa. They held the parties that violated the agreement fully responsible for the escalation.
In a statement, the SDF said that clashes broke out in the Dibsī ‘Afnān area following an attack by Damascus government factions on their positions, a clear violation of the agreement signed under international sponsorship. The agreement stipulates a ceasefire and grants a 48-hour deadline for the withdrawal of forces from the cities of Deir Hafer and Maskanah.
The forces clarified that the Transitional Government had introduced military convoys, including heavy weapons and tanks, into the region before the withdrawal process was completed. They then proceeded to attack SDF positions, which led to the martyrdom of several of their fighters.
The SDF confirmed that they hold the parties who violated the agreement and attacked their forces fully responsible for the escalation. They also held the international powers sponsoring the agreement responsible for what is happening, urging immediate intervention to halt the violations and prevent the situation from worsening on the ground.
