Israeli Soldiers Light Hanukkah Candle in Mount Sheikh Area Inside Syrian Territory
Israeli journalists published, on Sunday, photos showing Israeli soldiers lighting the first candle of the Jewish Hanukkah menorah in the Mount Sheikh Heights area, inside Syrian territory, specifically in the rural areas of Quneitra Governorate.
The photos were accompanied by a caption referring to the lighting of the Hanukkah lights on the summit of Mount Hermon, which is the name Israel gives to Mount Sheikh.
No official comment has been issued by the Syrian Transitional Government regarding the circulated images, as Israeli movements and incursions continue in southern Syria.
