Israeli Prime Minister: We Wish to Establish Relations with Syria

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday evening that Israel wishes to establish relations with Syria.
He added that “despite the fact that half of the members of the transitional government in Syria are jihadists, Israel wishes to establish different relations with Syria.”
Netanyahu added, in an interview with the American channel Fox News: “Unfortunately, half of the Syrian army is made up of jihadists. We would like to see whether it is possible to establish different relations with Damascus.”
For his part, the American president said that he had reached “understandings” with the Israeli prime minister regarding Syria.
He explained during a joint press conference in Florida: “I am confident that Israel and the Syrian president will reach an agreement, and I will do my utmost to achieve that.”
The day before yesterday, Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump said: “I hope that Netanyahu will come to terms with Syria.”
