Israeli Army Advances into Quneitra Countryside and Releases One Detainee

An Israeli army force advanced on Monday into the southern countryside of Quneitra, where it established a temporary military post and carried out inspections of cars and pedestrians in the area.
According to a local source speaking to North Press, several four-wheel-drive vehicles entered the vicinity of the town of Saida al-Hanout, after which members of the patrol began setting up a temporary checkpoint on the outskirts of the town, which included verifying personal IDs and inspecting vehicles.
The incursion comes three days after the escalation that took place in the town of Beit Jinn in rural Damascus, where it was subjected to Israeli shelling following clashes that erupted between an Israeli patrol and residents of the town, resulting in the death of 13 people, including women and children, in addition to a number of Israeli soldiers being injured.
In a related development, a local source from Beit Jinn stated that the Israeli army has released one of the three individuals it detained during the recent operation, while the fate of the remaining detainees is still unknown. He added that the release took place through one of the contact points in the Golan, while the residents continue to demand the disclosure of the fate of the others.
