Israel Reveals: We Arrested Cells in Syria Affiliated with the Quds Force

Tel Aviv – The Israeli army announced that it carried out a series of operations inside Syrian territory resulting in the arrest of cells affiliated with the Iranian Quds Force, according to a statement by the army spokesperson Avichay Adraee, published today, Friday, on his account on the X platform.
Cells Linked to Unit 840
Adraee explained that “Israeli forces arrested in recent months individuals who were mobilized by the Special Operations Unit 840 affiliated with the Quds Force,” adding that these individuals were transferred to Israel for interrogation.
Arrests by Name
The Israeli spokesperson pointed out that in March and April, two individuals, Zidan Al-Tawil and Mohammed Al-Kuryan, were arrested inside Syria. He also noted the arrest of other cells linked to the Lebanese Qassem Salah Al-Husseini and Mohammed Shaib, who were killed last month in Lebanon and considered among “the key operatives in the arms smuggling axis from Iran to the West Bank and the northern front.”
Recruitment Through Bribery
Adraee stated that investigations revealed some detainees were unaware of who recruited them, explaining that recruitment often took place through deception and financial bribery.
Targeting Syrian Sites
He added that Israel carried out attacks on camps belonging to the Syrian army in the eastern part of the country, claiming they were used by Unit 840, confirming that “the Israeli army and Shin Bet will continue their firm operations against this unit and all arms of the Iranian axis.”
Ongoing Threats
Despite negotiations between the two sides to calm the situation in southern Syria, Israel affirmed that it will continue targeting “everything that threatens its security,” threatening further military operations.
