Israel Raises Alert Level in the North Amid Fears of Escalation with Lebanon

The Israeli army has raised its readiness level on the northern front following direct instructions from Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, who ordered urgent measures to confront any potential threats from Lebanon, according to Hebrew media outlets, including the website IMLebanon.
The Israeli army stated that Zamir emphasized during field meetings with senior officers the necessity of maintaining the “highest levels of alertness and preparedness,” in anticipation of any possible escalation with Hezbollah.
This move comes amid ongoing tensions on the northern border since October 2023, where intermittent clashes have led to the evacuation of thousands of residents from northern Israel and southern Lebanon. Reports indicated the transfer of additional military units to the area to strengthen defenses and gradually secure the return of civilians.
Tel Aviv warns of the possibility that the northern front could turn into an open confrontation zone, while the military establishment is closely monitoring developments, amid internal calls to enhance coordination between security branches in preparation for any sudden developments.
