Israel Accuses Iran’s Revolutionary Guard of Orchestrating Overseas Attack Attempts

The Israeli intelligence agency (Mossad) on Sunday accused Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of being involved in attempts to carry out attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets in several countries during 2024 and 2025.

In a statement, Mossad said that an IRGC officer named Sardar Ammar, who operates under Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani, oversaw a covert operational network that attempted to carry out attacks in Australia, Greece, and Germany.

The statement added that the network adopted a method of “terrorism without Iranian fingerprints,” by recruiting foreigners, using criminals, and employing encrypted communications. Mossad noted that joint intelligence efforts with international partners led to the foiling of dozens of plots and the saving of lives.

Mossad also indicated that investigations revealed the network was responsible for several attempted attacks targeting Israelis and Jews both inside and outside Israel, and that all operations were thwarted after the plots were uncovered and several suspects were arrested.
