ISIS Uses Artificial Intelligence to Recruit Britons, According to New UK Report

A British report revealed that ISIS has begun using artificial intelligence technologies to recruit mercenaries inside the United Kingdom by translating and distributing rapidly circulating propaganda content across virtual social media platforms, a development that has raised widespread concern within British intelligence agencies.
The Telegraph reported that the organization has, for the first time, resorted to artificial intelligence in targeted campaigns aimed at recruiting Britons, a step that security authorities consider a dangerous development in ISIS’s propaganda methods.
According to the report, MI5 and MI6 are monitoring the increasing use of AI technologies by ISIS as a tool to enhance its propaganda, amid fears of renewed activity by both ISIS and al-Qaeda in the Middle East and the Horn of Africa.
MI5 Director General Sir Ken McCallum said in his annual threat update that “ISIS and al-Qaeda have become more ambitious, exploiting external instability to encourage potential attackers in the West.”
The information indicated that the organization has launched a new campaign to recruit foreign mercenaries in Syria, relying on AI tools to translate its documents into dozens of languages and publish them instantly, giving its propaganda global reach before it can be detected or removed from social platforms.
