ISIS targets an oil tanker and a businessman’s car in Deir ez-Zor countryside

Local sources reported on Wednesday that armed men affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS) targeted an oil tanker and a car belonging to an investor in the oil sector in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The sources stated that the attack occurred near the town of Rwashid, north of Deir ez-Zor, where gunmen riding two motorcycles opened fire with automatic weapons at the oil tanker and the car while they were heading towards the Rwashid desert to purchase petroleum materials.
They added that the attack resulted in the injury of a civilian worker inside the investor’s car, as well as damage to the tanker, while the gunmen fled towards the depths of the desert.
According to the sources, the investor had previously received threats from the group, demanding periodic payments described as “Zakat” in exchange for allowing him to continue his work
