German Foreign Ministry Warns Citizens Against Traveling to Syria Due to Security Situation

The German Foreign Ministry issued a strong travel warning today against visiting Syria, citing the unstable security and political conditions and the dangers of moving around within the country.

The ministry confirmed in its statement that the German embassy in Damascus remains closed, explaining that consular assistance is only available in emergency cases and on a very limited basis.

The German Foreign Ministry pointed out that the security situation in Syria remains volatile, with ongoing clashes in the southern, northeastern, and western regions, alongside increasing incidents of kidnappings and unlawful killings, including in the coastal areas.
