Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit Begins in Doha to Discuss Israeli Attacks

On Monday, September 15, 2025, the emergency Arab-Islamic summit kicked off in Doha, the Qatari capital, with wide participation from leaders of Arab and Islamic countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, the UAE, Kuwait, Sudan, as well as Islamic countries such as Turkey, Iran, Malaysia, and Indonesia, in addition to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The main session focused on discussing the repercussions of the Israeli attack on Doha on September 9, 2025, which targeted Hamas leadership in Qatar, alongside formulating a unified Arab-Islamic stance to halt Israeli violations of Arab and Islamic sovereignty, defend the Palestinian cause, and strengthen Qatar’s mediating role.

The summit holds special significance as a pivotal moment in the joint Arab-Islamic efforts, reflecting unity in the face of what the delegations described as “U.S.-backed Israeli arrogance.” It also seeks to discuss practical steps to stop the attacks on Gaza, support reconstruction efforts, and fortify regional security amid escalating challenges.

The summit was convened following the Israeli attack on September 11 and marks the first emergency Arab-Islamic summit hosted by Doha since 2000, after previous events such as the Baghdad summit in May 2025. The summit is scheduled to last two days, during which binding decisions reflecting the collective position will be issued.
