Damascus: Golan Youth Dies, Hours After Arrest

Death Following Arrest
Atta Saleh Al-Fayyad, a young man from the Golan, passed away approximately two hours after being arrested in the Masaken Barzeh area of Damascus. His detention reportedly followed a dispute involving his son and another individual related to members of the General Security (Public Police).

According to the General Security’s version of events, the death was the result of a “sudden stroke.”

Family Demands Investigation
The deceased’s family has called for a transparent investigation and the issuance of an official medical report from the forensic department and the Minister of Health clarifying the cause of death.

Warning from the Deceased’s Brother
The victim’s brother appeared in a recorded video, calling for “justice to be pursued legally and within the framework of the state,” warning that “ignoring the case could push it in another direction.”
