Civilians Injured by Israeli Army Fire in Rural Quneitra

Local sources and organizations monitoring the Syrian situation reported that three civilians were injured today as a result of gunfire by Israeli forces during a temporary incursion into the vicinity of Khan Arnabeh town in rural Quneitra.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the Israeli forces set up a temporary checkpoint near the entrance of the town, after which a number of residents gathered in protest against what they described as incursions into Syrian territory, leading to gunfire that resulted in injuries transferred to the National Golan Hospital.

According to circulated information, the Israeli forces established several temporary points on main roads in the area, including the Jubbata al-Khashab – Khan Arnabeh road, and the Jibba – Khan Arnabeh road, in addition to closing the road connecting Damascus and Khan Arnabeh for a short period before later withdrawing.

The area is witnessing a state of tension following the incident, amid the absence of official comments from either side at the time of reporting.
