Attempts to Encircle Kobani Amid Heavy Clashes Near Ain Issa

Areas west of the city of Ain Issa are witnessing continued military escalation, with attempts by mercenaries affiliated with the transitional government to advance and encircle the city of Kobani in the Euphrates region.

Local sources reported the outbreak of heavy clashes in the vicinity of Ain Issa, involving the use of various types of heavy and light weapons, as part of these groups’ efforts to advance toward the city of Kobani and impose a military siege on it.

The sources confirmed that fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces, along with fighters from the Women’s Protection Units, are repelling the attacks and continuing their efforts to prevent any advance toward the city and thwart attempts to besiege it.

According to field sources, the clashes resulted in casualties and injuries on both sides, while the contact lines are witnessing a state of maximum alert amid fears of an expansion of the confrontations and their spread to additional areas in northern Syria.
