Airstrike in Bint Jbeil: Five Civilian Casualties and Ongoing Israeli Investigation

Israel carried out a drone airstrike on the city of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon, resulting in the death of five people, including three children and their father, and injuring two others, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
UNICEF expressed deep concern over the targeting of civilians, emphasizing the importance of protecting children and innocent people in armed conflicts.
The Israeli authorities acknowledged that the airstrike targeted a Hezbollah operative but confirmed that unintended civilian casualties occurred and announced the start of an internal investigation to determine the circumstances.
The Lebanese side considers the incident a violation against civilians, while the Israeli side justifies the strike as “necessary for national security defense.”
