A Member of the General Security Killed and Another Injured During a Raid on the House of an Armed Group Leader in Rural Daraa

A member of the General Security was killed and another was injured with varying degrees of wounds after a raid carried out by the General Security forces affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government at midnight last night on the house of a former local armed group leader in the town of Qarfa in the central countryside of Daraa.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, both sides exchanged fire during the operation, resulting in two casualties — one dead and one injured — with no information reported regarding the arrest of the wanted individual.
The area witnessed a wide security alert, causing local tension among residents. It is worth noting that on September 24, another member of the General Security, in his thirties and originally from the town of Al-Yadudah, was killed after being directly shot by unidentified gunmen on the road between Al-Yadudah and Al-Muzayrib, near the Al-Durra gas station west of Daraa. The victim had been working as a Sharia official within the General Security apparatus of the Interim Government.
