A 4.4-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Al-Hasakah Rural, Near of the Syrian–Iraqi Border

Syrian media reported on Thursday morning that an earthquake measuring 4.4 Richter scale, struck the area near the Syrian–Iraqi border in Al-Hasakah Governorate, northeastern Syria, at around 05:30 a.m.

The sources indicated that residents of the governorate and neighboring areas felt the tremor, which occurred approximately 19 kilometers from Iraqi territory and about 96 kilometers from the Turkish border.

As of the time of reporting, no human or material damages have been reported.
