On the 14th Anniversary of Its Founding… Women’s Protection Units Call for Strengthening the Role of Women in Building a Free Syria

On the 14th anniversary of its establishment, the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) reaffirmed their ongoing struggle for women’s freedom and the building of a democratic Syria, highlighting their role in protecting women, participating in defeating ISIS, and promoting the values of equality and coexistence.

In a statement, they emphasized that joining the Syrian Ministry of Defense requires clear constitutional and legal guarantees, revealing that dialogue with the ministry in Damascus is ongoing without a final agreement reached yet.

They also called on all women’s movements to support this phase and to strengthen the joint struggle for a free and equal Syrian future led by women.
