Residents of Hasakah Hold a Large Commemoration Ceremony for the Martyrs of the Sheikh Maqsoud Resistance

The residents of Hasakah city, with all its components, along with members of civil and administrative institutions, organized a large commemoration ceremony in front of al-Hamama Roundabout in the city center, to honor the souls of the martyrs of the Sheikh Maqsoud resistance.

The ceremony began with a minute of silence in reverence to the souls of the martyrs, followed by a speech delivered by the co-chair of the Hasakah City Council, Farouq Tozo, who offered condolences to the families of the martyrs and to the people of the region, praying for mercy upon their souls.

Tozo affirmed that the people of Hasakah, in all their components, express through this participation their loyalty to the sacrifices of the selfless leader Ziad Halab and his comrades, noting that the martyr Ziad Halab has become a symbol not only for the Kurds, but for all components of North and East Syria after his decision to resist and defend civilians in the face of attacks.

He pointed to attempts by some media outlets in recent days to promote rhetoric aimed at inciting discord among the components of the Syrian people and tearing apart the social fabric, stressing that the blood of the martyrs embodied the reality of unity and a shared destiny in confronting terrorism.

He added that the Sheikh Maqsoud resistance will remain alive in the conscience of future generations and will turn into a new school of struggle, despite the scale of sacrifices and massacres that civilians were subjected to.

The ceremony witnessed the participation of a number of children, who recited poetic verses dedicated to immortalizing the memory of the martyrs and glorifying the Sheikh Maqsoud resistance, its residents, and the forces that defended it.

For his part, citizen Mohammad Hajo, during his participation in the ceremony while holding up a photo documenting the Sheikh Maqsoud resistance, affirmed that this image will remain deeply rooted in the conscience of the Kurdish people and all components, stressing that the will of the people cannot be broken, and that following the path of the martyrs is the way to ensure dignity and freedom.

The commemoration ceremony concluded with the raising of slogans glorifying the martyrs and the resistance, and chanting the slogan: Resistance is Life
