Internal Security Forces: Damascus Government Claims of Control over Sheikh Maqsoud Are False

The so-called Ministry of Defense of the Damascus government has circulated claims alleging its control over approximately 90% of the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in the city of Aleppo.

We categorically affirm that these claims are false and misleading, have no connection to reality, and come within the framework of failed attempts to cover up the crimes and serious violations committed by the militias of the Damascus government against civilians.

On the ground, the axes of the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood are witnessing intense street clashes with the militias of the Damascus government, and our forces have managed to inflict heavy losses on their ranks.

In parallel, brutal shelling with artillery and tanks continues to target the neighborhood, in a systematic criminal behavior aimed at spreading terror among the civilian population and destroying infrastructure, including hospitals and service facilities, in a blatant violation of international and humanitarian laws and norms.
