The Transitional Government Targets Khaled Fajr Hospital in the Sheikh Maqsoud Neighborhood of Aleppo

Our sources reported that Khaled Fajr Hospital, located in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of the city of Aleppo, is being subjected to direct and intense shelling by mercenaries of the transitional government, amid severe overcrowding with wounded civilians and residents, raising serious fears of a massacre against civilians.

According to the received information, the shelling is being carried out using various types of heavy weapons and is directly and systematically targeting the hospital, despite the presence of hundreds of women, children, and elderly people inside, either to receive treatment or to seek shelter from military operations.

The sources clarified that the hospital has been exposed to violent and continuous shelling for the past two days, after mercenaries of the transitional government declared it a military target, in a clear violation of international laws and norms that prohibit the targeting of medical facilities.

In the same context, the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood is witnessing violent attacks, which are being confronted by the Internal Security Forces in the neighborhood. A number of attacks have been thwarted and losses inflicted on the attacking parties. According to the information, the targeting of civilians and the hospital is deliberate and systematic, following the failure of those attacks.

Fears continue to grow over the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the neighborhood, amid ongoing shelling and the targeting of medical facilities, which constitute a vital lifeline for saving the lives of the wounded and civilians.
