181 People Killed in Syria During December 2025

A total of 181 people, including 17 women and 16 children, were killed during the month of December 2025 in various parts of Syria, according to statistics monitored by a local agency.

The data showed that the victims fell in areas under the control of the transitional government, as well as in other areas controlled by Turkey-backed factions, as a result of separate security incidents that occurred during the final month of the year.

According to the statistics, the causes of the incidents varied between targeting operations carried out by transitional government forces, assassinations, family and tribal infighting, armed clashes, in addition to security operations and explosions caused by remnants of war, such as landmines and cluster munitions.

The incidents were recorded in several governorates, including Aleppo, Damascus and its countryside, Latakia, Tartus, Hama, Homs, Deir ez-Zor, Daraa, As-Suwayda, and Idlib, reflecting the wide geographical spread of violence across different areas of the country.

The death toll included women and children from various social components. During the month, it was also announced that a mass grave had been discovered in the village of Turkan, التابعة to the city of Al-Safira in the Aleppo countryside, containing the remains of eight people, including a woman and a child.

November 2025 had witnessed the killing of 170 people, including 13 women and 21 children, in the same areas, according to the same statistics.

Military and political analysts believe that the continued recording of high numbers of victims reflects the fragility of the security situation in Syria, amid the widespread availability of weapons and the multiplicity of armed actors, alongside ongoing humanitarian and security challenges at the end of a year marked by violence and instability.
