Trump Threatens Military Strike Against Iran, Calls on Hamas to Disarm

U.S. President Donald Trump threatened, late Monday night, the possibility of launching a military strike against Iran if it continues what he described as attempts to rebuild its nuclear capabilities. He also called on the Palestinian movement Hamas to disarm.
Trump said, “I hear that Iran is trying to rebuild its nuclear sites, and if they are doing that, we will strike them again,” during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, held at the Mar-a-Lago resort in the state of Florida.
The U.S. president added that he “would support a rapid attack on Iran” if it continues developing its nuclear capabilities, without providing further details regarding the nature or timing of this support.
Regarding the Gaza Strip, Trump called on Hamas to give up its weapons, expressing hope to move “very quickly” to the second phase of the peace plan in Gaza. He noted that the reconstruction of the Strip would begin soon, stressing that the United States “will do everything it can to recover the remains of the last hostage.”
As for Israeli-Syrian relations, Trump said he hopes that “Netanyahu will come to terms with Syria,” without elaborating further on this issue.
