Israeli Army Accuses Lebanese Army of Collaborating with Hezbollah Following Raids on Sidon

On Tuesday, the Israeli army accused the Lebanese army of collaborating with Hezbollah, stating that it views as “extremely serious” what it described as coordination between the two sides, following airstrikes targeting the city of Sidon in southern Lebanon.
Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee said in a statement published on the “X” platform that Israeli forces carried out “precise targeting operations” in southern Lebanon, resulting in the killing of three individuals described as “terrorist elements” affiliated with Hezbollah.
He added that among the dead was a person who allegedly served concurrently in the intelligence unit of the Lebanese army, alongside another individual working in Hezbollah’s air defense unit in the Sidon area.
The statement noted that the airstrikes targeted individuals accused by the Israeli army of working to “advance plans” against its forces and seeking to “rebuild military infrastructure” in southern Lebanon, considering these activities a “serious violation of the understandings” in place between the two sides.
The Israeli army affirmed that it will continue carrying out operations to eliminate what it described as threats targeting Israeli citizens.
