Sources reported on Tuesday that the Syrian Democratic Forces carried out a joint operation with the International Coalition in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, resulting in the killing of two individuals suspected of providing support to the Islamic State “ISIS.”
The sources stated that the operation took place in the town of Dhiban on the twentieth of this month and targeted two individuals allegedly involved in supporting the organization’s improvised explosive device networks.
Meanwhile, a source in the International Coalition against “ISIS” confirmed the execution of the joint operation, explaining that the forces targeted individuals suspected of facilitating the organization’s activities in the town. The source added that the suspects opened fire when the forces entered their residence, prompting the security personnel to respond, which resulted in their deaths.
The source pointed out that subsequent inspections of the site, along with the interrogation of other suspects who were detained, revealed that the two deceased had been providing support to ISIS’s improvised explosive device networks in the area and were involved in planning attacks targeting local security forces and civilians.
