Russian general killed in car bombing south of Moscow, warning of consequences of “NATO provocations”

A general in the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces was killed yesterday morning as a result of a car explosion in the south of the capital, Moscow, in the latest incident targeting a prominent military figure.
Official sources reported that the explosion killed the head of the Operational Training Department of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, General Vanil Sarfarov (56), after an explosive device planted beneath his car detonated while it was parked in a residential neighborhood south of Moscow.
The incident came hours after Russian and Ukrainian delegates held separate talks in the city of Miami, which, according to reports, discussed ideas related to a potential plan to end the war.
In a related context, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that his country is exercising “the utmost restraint” in dealing with what he described as “provocative steps” taken by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), warning that the continuation of these policies could have consequences.
