SDF denies targeting Aleppo neighborhoods, holds factions affiliated with the transitional government responsible for shelling

The Syrian Democratic Forces categorically denied the accusations issued by military bodies affiliated with the transitional government regarding the targeting of neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo.

In a statement, the media center of the Syrian Democratic Forces said that factions affiliated with the transitional government are using tanks and artillery to shell the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, holding what it described as “undisciplined factions” responsible for the ongoing escalation for nearly four months, through imposing a siege and carrying out attacks against civilians.

The statement added that the shelling of residential neighborhoods, as it put it, is the result of the movements of those factions, particularly in western and northern Aleppo, noting that rockets are being launched from military positions affiliated with them and along clear trajectories toward the city’s neighborhoods.

The Syrian Democratic Forces considered that these attacks aim to undermine security and incite strife within the city, reaffirming their denial of any role in targeting residential areas.
