Israeli Media: U.S.-Israeli Understandings on the Syrian File

Israeli media outlets reported on Tuesday, citing sources, that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. envoy Thomas Barrack have reached understandings related to the situation in Syria, including the course of negotiations over a security agreement.

Israel’s i24NEWS channel stated that the understandings included maintaining Israel’s stance regarding developments in Syria, as well as continuing negotiations with Damascus on security arrangements.

According to the sources, the U.S. envoy outlined what were described as “red lines” concerning Israeli activity on Syrian territory during his meeting with Netanyahu, noting that both sides now share a mutual understanding of the nature of the steps expected from each party.

No official comment has been issued by either the Israeli or U.S. governments regarding the report.

U.S. President Donald Trump had previously said in a post that Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa is “working hard to ensure positive developments,” expressing hope for a “long-term and prosperous” relationship between Syria and Israel.
