Israeli Force Penetrates Quneitra Countryside and Establishes Military Checkpoint

An Israeli military force penetrated the southern countryside of Quneitra on Saturday, where it established a military checkpoint and carried out search operations on several homes, according to local sources.

The sources indicated that a military force consisting of six vehicles and dozens of soldiers entered the vicinity of the village of Saida al-Hanout and set up a checkpoint at the first entrance of the village, while another group of soldiers ventured into the residential neighborhoods.

They added that the troops carried out searches of some homes and interrogated the residents about the general situation in Syria, without any arrests being reported.

The sources noted that the soldiers offered to provide food assistance to the residents, but the locals refused to accept it, and they also refrained from answering the questions posed to them.

In a related context, on Friday, Israeli forces arrested two individuals at a military checkpoint set up between the villages of Al-Ajraf and Umm Batna in the central Quneitra countryside, before taking them to the Golan Heights.

From time to time, areas in the Quneitra countryside witness attempts by the Israeli army to provide food assistance to the residents, but these aids are often met with refusal from the locals.
