Erdogan: The March 10 Agreement Represents an Important Path for the Future of Syria and the Region

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday that the March 10 agreement, signed between Syrian Transitional Government Head Ahmad al-Sharaa and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Commander Mazloum Abdi, represents an important path for the future of Syria and the region. He also pointed out that Syria will be the biggest beneficiary of this agreement.
In statements carried by Anadolu Agency following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Erdogan mentioned that Turkey seeks to achieve prosperity for all Syrians, considering that the March 10 agreement strengthens these aspirations.
He clarified that his country desires the prosperity of all Syrians, without discrimination between Turkmen, Arabs, Kurds, Sunnis, and Alawites, emphasizing that the agreement supports this goal.
Regarding his meeting with President Putin, Erdogan said that the discussions mainly focused on the war and the efforts being made to achieve peace, noting that Putin is well aware of Turkey’s position on the matter, as are the other concerned parties.
The Turkish president also stressed the importance of maintaining the security of navigation in the Black Sea, emphasizing that the Black Sea should not be seen as a battleground for settling scores, as everyone needs safe navigation.
