Massive Demonstration Demanding the Right to Self-Determination in Sweida

Today, the city of Sweida witnessed a demonstration in which hundreds participated, demanding the right to self-determination and reaffirming the demands of the popular movement that has been ongoing for months. The participants raised flags and slogans calling for the enhancement of civil and political rights, in addition to demanding improvements in living conditions and an end to violations.

The demonstrators chanted slogans emphasizing the necessity of finding a comprehensive political solution that guarantees the freedom and dignity of Syrians, while activists called for the continuation of the peaceful movement as a means of expressing the local community’s demands.

This demonstration comes amid the ongoing protests in the governorate, which has been witnessing gatherings and marches since last year, calling for political and economic reforms, with noticeable community involvement and local media coverage.
